2021 Annual Meeting Highlights

January 18, 2021 | by: Gregg Hunter | 1 comments

Tomorrow we will resume our study of the Psalms, but I know many of you were not able to attend our Annual Business Meeting, which was held last night. So, today I’d like to praise God for some of the highlights that were shared. As you read through these, please give God the glory for what He is doing at and through Fort Howard Community Church:

  • COVID has caused us to step out of our comfort zones and find new ways of doing ministry. One new way has been these blog posts which are being read by more than 200 people each week!
  • Even during the pandemic, our Sunday morning attendance has increased from an average of 40 to an average of 50 people!
  • Our youth group used Zoom to continue meeting last spring, and now that they are meeting again in person, their Sunday night attendance has grown to an average of 16 students!
  • Even during the pandemic, our giving far exceeded our budget, and our expenses were far less than expected. All in all, we ended up receiving about twenty thousand dollars more than we did in 2019, and we spent thirty thousand dollars less than we received! God has greatly provided for our church!
  • We had to stop supporting a few missionaries for various reasons, but we were able to begin supporting the Itzel family, and their ministry with Open Air Campaigners!
  • COVID caused the cancellation of various ministries, including our Children’s ministry, but our children will begin meeting again for children’s church on a bi-monthly basis in February!
  • We had no fellowship meals last year, but are brainstorming ways to be able to resume at least some of them later this year. There is hope for us to be able to fellowship around the table again!
  • New audio equipment is expected to be installed before our Easter cantata!
  • We will be able to have an Easter cantata!
  • We have three missions trips that some of our members are hoping to take this year to Peru, Guatemala, and China!
  • We are exploring opportunities to get a new LED church sign!

Much more was shared, but this is a great list for you to use to begin giving God the glory! Even with all the difficulties that 2020 brought, God was and is still working in and through our church. Truly, He is worthy of all our praise!

God is Good! Sounds like a very productive meeting.
Sorry don’t attend Sunday Night services. We always have our family dinners with siblings, nieces and nephews. We have done this for many years. It is our family fellowship.
