What is Truth: TBR: March 28: Exodus 39; John 18
Today we read of the trials of Jesus in John 18. The Jews wanted Jesus killed but they lacked the authority for capital punishment and when they did have the authority, they stoned rather than crucifying. Jesus had predicted He would be lifted up so He ultimately had to go through the Roman court system for this prophecy to be fulfilled (v. 32). When confronted by Pilate about being a King, Jesus said He indeed was a King, but not of this world, and that He came to the world to bear witness to the truth and that those who followed Him were of the truth (v. 37). Christian, we are told today there are many truths and to find your truth - don’t believe it. Jesus is the Truth (John 14:6). We are sanctified by the Truth and God’s Word is truth (John 17:17). Anyone who does not follow Christ is not of the truth. There is no gray area here. It’s black and white. So let us seek and follow the Word of God and the Word made flesh, Jesus, the One who is the truth. No need for so-called worldly wisdom. You have Jesus, now follow and grow in the truth. May the Lord be with you today!
