Wait on the Lord: TBR: April 16: Lev 20; Psalm 25
In Psalm 25 we have a lament of David for himself and on behalf of God’s people. He declares that there are indeed troubles from without (his enemies, vv. 3, 19) and within (his own sin, vv. 7, 11). Where would seek the Lord and His ways (v. 4-5). He would seek the Lord, who is faithful, for the forgiveness of his sins (v. 11). He would wait or put his trust in the Lord because the Lord is faithful in His covenant v. 10. It is good for us to not become depressed in our circumstances, even when they are unfair and unjust. It is good rather to take our burdens to the Lord and know that He is with us. Let us wait on the Lord to deliver us. We know He is faithful, for He has sent His Son Jesus Christ to be the perfect sacrifice for our sin. And we simply wait now for the Lord to restore all things (Rom 8). Let us put our hope and trust in the Lord. May the Lord be with you today.
