That You May Believe: TBR: March 30: Leviticus 1; John 20
Today we read the account of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This is most important for if Jesus didn’t rise, we are still in our sins. If Jesus is still dead, the sacrifice was not accepted. We are not justified with God. But the sacrifice was accepted. He was raised for our justification (Rom 4:25). Thomas loved Jesus and was willing to die with him (John 11:16). But after Jesus’s death, he did not believe unless he saw and touched the wounds. When Jesus appears to him and he does in fact see and touch Jesus, he believes. Jesus then speaks of us when he says, “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed” (v. 29). John then tells us why these things were written, “that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name” (v. 31). May we grow in our faith in Christ through reading of His great resurrection. May the Lord be with you today!
