TBR: March 18: Exodus 29; John 8
As God gave the instructions concerning the priests in Exodus 29, He concluded by stating not only that He would be their God, but also that He would dwell with them (v. 45). This is significant for pagan gods were thought to dwell high above people, ruling over them. But here, the God of Israel is different. Yes, He is high and exalted, yet He also dwells with His people. We see this ultimately fulfilled in the Person of Jesus Christ when in John 1:14 where it is stated, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” Today the Holy Spirit dwells in each believer communicating to us the presence of Christ who has never left us or forsaken us but is always with us. We should take great comfort and be thankful that the Lord Jesus was made low to dwell with us. The Lord be with you today!
