TBR: March 14: Exodus 25; John 4
In Exodus 25, we read about various items to be in the Tabernacle. It is significant that the only thing in the Most Holy Place, the Holy of Holies, was the Ark of the Covenant. On top of the Ark was the “Mercy Seat” or the atonement cover. On the Mercy Seat were two golden cherubim with wings stretching out. From above the cherubim on the mercy seat we see in v. 22 that God meet with Moses and would speak to Him and all Israel. We can’t come to God on our own terms. It is only by atonement we can approach God and thereby find mercy. God is a just God. We can thank Him that in Christ, now full atonement has been made, and we can boldly come to God’s throne of grace and fine mercy (Heb. 4:16). There is no need for pride today. Only giving of thanks, for the great mercy of God. The Lord be with you today!
