Refuge in the Lord: TBR: April 3: Lev. 6; Psalms 5-6
In Psalm 5, a Psalm of David, we read of the fact that we can cry out to the Lord vv. 1-2. What a privilege. We can rejoice in the fact that our prayers do not go unheard but rather the Lord hears the prayers of His children. This is how we seek to make God our refuge - by depending on God and not ourselves. The result, despite the trials, of making God our refuge is not terror or hopelessness but rather is joy (v. 11). Despair is replaced with hope, sadness is replaced with Joy. The only way we can do this is because of God’s “steadfast love” - His loyal, steadfast devotion to us. Apart from this, we could have nothing. Let us go to God for our refuge. May the Lord be with you today.
