Peace in Trials: TBR: March 26: Exodus 37; John 16
With Jesus leaving His disciples, He warned them of rough times ahead (vv. 1-4, 33). But Jesus would not leave them alone. The Spirit would be with them. And not only would the Spirit be with them, but Jesus said it was for their advantage that He goes away v. 7. While on earth, Jesus was at one place at one time. But now when He would leave and be with the Father, the Spirit would communicate the presence of Christ to all believers at all times. This is so important because being a follower doesn’t mean you won’t have trials and tribulations. You certainly will. Peace doesn’t come from the absence of those things. Peace comes from knowing the Sovereign Lord Jesus is with you in those trials. This is exactly what Jesus meant when He said, “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” May the Lord be with you today.
